The power behind colour & design

For One Inch Whale, she has long been a familiar face. From the very beginning, we were captivated by the patented colour methodology of iVisual, the company she co-founded. This vision led to a close collaboration. Her innovative approach to colour science and semiotics has officially enriched the palette of One Inch Whale since 2024. Meet Karine Steculorum, our Colour & Visual Impact Director.

“The vision of ‘swimming against the tide’ immediately resonated with me because it perfectly aligns with my own approach,” Karine explains. With years of experience and a passion for scientific insights into colour and packaging, she helps brands communicate in a more powerful and meaningful

way. Thanks to her expertise, One Inch Whale and iVisual – an Antwerp-based company specializing in predictive visual intelligence – quickly became partners. After 25 years of research, iVisual developed a patented colour system that optimizes brand and packaging design. “One Inch Whale was an early believer in iVisual. Together, we’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with many innovative clients, bringing structure to the so-called black box of the consumer brain: the complex processes behind consumer behavior.”

One Inch Whale’s focus on depth and meaning (“Always sharp, never shallow”) is also a perfect match with Karine’s vision of people and projects. Her passion lies in exploring the possibilities and limitations of concepts and bringing them to life in a way that enables thoughtful and informed decision-making. “And let’s never lose the spirit of Pippi Longstocking,” she adds. With the courage and optimism of the Pippi mindset, she approaches life, and her work, head-on. “Through our market research agency, I hope to connect with inspiring people and embrace bold, unconventional thinking without fear of judgment. And, of course, enjoy every step of the journey!”

For Karine, storytelling is an essential part of life. Alongside her fascination for art, culture, and architecture, she is deeply curious about human behaviour, nature, and creativity. “I thrive on pushing creative boundaries and introducing unexpected twists that bring ideas to life,” Karine explains.

“I’m deeply fascinated by sensory experiences and constantly strive to understand their science, meaning, and associations, as well as their impact on individuals and environments. Vibrant conversations are crucial to my process; they allow me to gather and share knowledge.”

With the acquisition of iVisual Services by One Inch Whale, Karine is excited to collaborate closely with the team and further expand the visual dimension within One Inch Whale. “We want to create real impact for our clients, build vibrant teamwork, and bring meaning to every day – while also enjoying the adventure along the way!” And enjoy we certainly will with this Pippi-strong woman, who brings colour to every day.

We’re so thrilled to have you on our team, Karine!
