Visual Semiotics Analyst

To expand our fast-growing whale pod, we are looking for someone who, like us, dares to swim against the tide. We are looking for someone who gets energy from pushing clients forward with efficient solutions and providing them with sharp yet in-depth advice. One Inch Whale is a leader in visual strategy and brand communication, leveraging cutting-edge methodologies to decode the deeper meaning of visual executions. Our proprietary and patented iVisual methodology allows us to analyse packaging, 

in-store materials, logos, and other brand visuals through a semiotic lens—uncovering their implicit meaning and impact on consumers and shoppers.

We are seeking a Visual Semiotics Analyst to join our team and apply our iVisual methodology to analyse, interpret, and enhance visual executions for top-tier brands. You will decode the meaning embedded in designs, assess their alignment with brand aspirations, and provide actionable recommendations to optimize their impact.

 

Your role in the whale pod:

  • Analyze brand visuals (packaging, logos, in-store materials) using the iVisual methodology to uncover their semiotic meaning and consumer impact.
  • Evaluate how packaging, logos, and in-store materials align with the brand's intended identity and consumer perceptions.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance clarity, resonance, and effectiveness in visual executions.
  • Deliver concrete recommendations to clients on how to fine-tune and optimize their visual identity and strategy.
  • Present insights in clear, compelling reports and client presentations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to refine brand storytelling through visual design.
  • Communicate confidently with clients at strategic and operational levels, translating insights into business value.

 

You are one of a kind:

  • You have at least 2 years of experience within marketing, communication or graphic design.
  • You have a strong affinity with different business sectors (e.g. FMCG, media, banking, services,...).
  • You have strong analytical skills with an ability to decode visual meaning beyond aesthetics. You are detail-oriented, curious, and passionate about the power of visual communication.
  • You have excellent analytical and reporting skills and enjoy bringing a powerful story to life for your clients.
  • Ability to deliver strategic advice and commercial insights that resonate with clients.
  • You can express yourself perfectly in English in word and writing. Any additional language is a plus.
